About Us

Shree Banashankari Lingayat Education and Rural Development Society

We commit to develop rural youth and women through vocational training. These trainings and initiatives would help poor families attain self-confidence and financial independence.

Established in 2010, Shree Banashankari Lingayat Education and Rural Development Society (R) is a nonprofit organization located in Savalagi Village, Jamkhandi, Bagalkot, Karnataka. Registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, our NGO is dedicated to rural development, women's empowerment, and self-employment training for rural women and youth.

Our objectives are as follows:
- To impart computer education to rural students.
- To provide financial assistance to students to help them complete their higher education.
- To initiate and conduct various educational and technical training programs, from nursery to graduation level.
- To promote the development of children and women.
- To provide financial assistance to poor families and women.

Women Empowerment Program

A stronger and better world results from empowered women. Our organization is dedicated to give women the tools, like education, training, etc., that are needed to be the catalysts for revolutionary social, environmental, and economic change in the Bagalkot district.

25-May-2024

Health Checkup Camp

Our NGO has organized a free health checkup camp with the Sewasadana Community Development Foundation, Miraj, under the patronage of Sri Banashankari Public School, Savalagi, Taluka Jamkhandi, District Bagalkot. The camp was held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The services provided included checkups for heart failure, brain disorders, diabetes, oral health, and surgical eye examinations. The venue for the camp was Sri Banashankari Public School, Savalagi.

Computer Skills Training

Our objective for this activity is to bring computer knowledge to people who are unfamiliar with computers, to develop information technology skills among rural women and youth, and to facilitate their interaction with computers. Under this initiative, quality computer education, knowledge, and guidance are provided with the supervision of experienced and qualified teachers. We have not only provided basic computer education but also introduced courses such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, and other commonly used software. Forty-five women and youth in Jamkhandi Taluk benefited from this activity.

Free Tailoring Course

The free tailoring courses for women in Savalagi aim to empower women. These courses are conducted by experienced trainers and skilled artisans with industry exposure. So far, we have reached 200 women in Savalagi Village.

Yoga Camp

We have organized a 10-day yoga camp for the people of our village, Savalagi. Participants learned yoga from Yoga Guru Shri. Venkanna Mudakannavar in Jamkhandi.

We have celebrated Independence Day at our office in Savalgi Village. Our staff and volunteers actively participated in the event. It was a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
